Computer World Adobe Air Article

I read a pretty good article over on computer world featuring the upcoming release of Adobe AIR titled "Adobe AIR set to take flight at Nasdaq, charity".

The author, Heather Havenstein, neither extols nor deplores the potential of AIR but rather shows both sides of coin in a rather refreshingly unbiased light.

Being a self proclaimed Adobe technology evangelist I see huge potential for AIR in all industries but must should accept that not all people will see the potential as do I. Some may even consider AIR to be nothing more than a gimmick, eye-candy with no real substance.

But as you read the article the author quite adeptly keys in on the main benefits of AIR (online/offline, synchronization) and the business use cases where it would fit. She also mentions possible competition to AIR; Microsoft's Silverlight and Mozillas', currently in development, Prism.

All in all a well written article worth a read.
