Coldfusion 8 Certification
I took the Coldfusion 8 Certification exam against my better judgment, and even after reading Ray Camden's post. I did review the new and updated tags since MX7 but saying that I studied would be a bit of an exaggeration
. I was also out last night with the speakers and sponsors of Coldfusion Camp and got home just before midnight.
I finished the test in 40 minutes and reviewed the entire test once more to make sure that I didn't fall trap to a trick questions, a misspellings, grammatical errors or any of the blatant typos that I noticed during the test. I considered adding comments to all the questions that I found problems but if they hadn't fixed them since before June 3rd when Ray Camden took the test I figured why waste my time.
Anyway you may be wondering what my score was, or not, but I am going to tell you anyway. I scored 90%
I had planned on then advancing to become a certified Coldfusion Trainer but after discussing this issue at length with someone who is already a certified trainer I think I will wait until Adobe rewrites the entire Coldfusion curriculum. Or perhaps I will pursue the trainer certification anyway at least then I will be a Certified trainer training people with non-certified materials where they at least will learn how to program.
Happy Coding...

About the trainer question: I was a certified trainer for CF 5 and 6 and found it isn't worth it. If you want to be a trainer for more than just the certificate, meaning if you really want to teach, talk to other independent trainers and start teaching a class that makes more sense than the official CF classes.
