Ext On Demand Data Loading
Aaron Conran over at EXTJS posted a really interesting entry today on On Demand Data Loading. The functionality produced looks much like that of the data paging capability using Lifecycle and Flex in that the data is loaded into the grid when the user scrolls past a certain point.
see it in action
The "old" way of doing it would be to provide a paging mechanism at the bottom of the grid and have the user click to the next page. This provides for "intelligently" loading the data on an as needed basis without forcing the user to do any additional work.
The one drawback of course is that a user can't skip ahead but that really is a minor thing.
Happy Coding...
