Trouble Removing Air Applications
I recently posted about some AIR applications for designers and while installing a few new applications I noticed I had some old beta versions of Agile Agenda, Flickr Floater and a few others that were with older no longer supported versions of the AIR Runtime.
If you try to click on the remove button from the Windows Installed Programs in the control panel I get the following error:
"This application requires a version of the Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR) which is no longer supported. Please contact the application author for an updated version."
But here is the problem. I don't want an updated version, if I wanted an updated version I wouldn't be asking to remove the application. So does that mean then that I first need to install an update of the application before I can remove it?
The answer, unfortunately, is yes. I visited the Adobe developer center and downloaded the new version of the Flickr Floater example application and installed. I was then able to remove it.
So my next question is. If the bloke who created the beta app hasn't bothered to create a new app do I have to fudge with my registry to remove the damn program? I hope that the answer is no.
Perhaps someone with more know-how than me can answer that question?
