100 Million Downloads for Adobe AIR

It would seem that Adobe has really managed to create a hit with the Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR). According to a TechCrunch article released today, downloads have exceeded the 100million mark in less than a year of the official launch date.

I installed the AIR beta as soon as it was available on Adobe Labs and created a few applications using Flex 2 to try it out.

Since that time AIR has gone from a 1.0 to a 1.5 release and the performance and features also greatly improved (in my opinion) with the release of Flash 10. With the number of free and commercial AIR applications available on the Adobe AIR Exchange and directly from companies makes for exciting times.
