Closure Tools - Free Javascript Tools from Google

Google recently released a 3 JavaScript tools which they are calling Closure Tools. These tools have helped Google to create software like Gmail, Google Docs and Google Maps. The decision for Google to release these tools as open-source could be a boon to many developers.

The compiler for one could definitely help us to not simply minify our JS code but also optimize and provide a series of checks for errors and warning.

While at first I dont' think the Closure Library or the Closure templates will help us in the near term they could certainly help developers that are not wedded to a particular library.

Happy Coding...

Ryan McIlmoyl's Gravatar Yeah, I took a look when I saw this announcement. The compiler is cool, especially with a Firefox plugin to make inspection the 'compiled' script easier. The documentation on the library is pretty sparse, would be hard to use without at least more in-depth examples. I'm still not sure about the templates, I could see a potential use for them.
