Top 10 Tech Gadgets for X-Mas
What tech gadgets are on your Christmas list this year? If I had a top 10 Christmas wish list of Tech Gadgets mine would probably look something like this:
- A PlayStation 3. Yes that's right I don't have one. I'm not really a big console fan but hey its got a 250Gig HD, Wi-Fi, and a Blu-Ray player. Your all Swiss-army knife of entertainment gadgets.
- Since we are talking about consoles I also wouldn't mind a Nintendo Wii. Not quite a versatile as a PlayStation but I have had the opportunity to play one and they are quite fun.
- A Time Capsule. I currently use an external HD to backup my Mac Book Pro, but a wire-less HD would be so much more convenient.
- A Universal Remote, since I am going to have a new Playstation and am going to use it to not only play Blu-Ray disc but also stored movies, music and photos, I am going to need a remote, and I hate having multiple remote controls.
- Magic Mouse. I've heard a lot about the magic mouse and I want one, nuff said!
- A HDMI connector for my Mac Book Pro, one that has SOUND! Whats the point of having an HDMI connector for the Mini DisplayPort if I can't get sound on my TV?
- A Garmin z?mo® 660 Motorcycle GPS, When I take rides on my motorcycle I generally don't have a particular place in mind, I just like to explore, but I also don't like to get lost, and this little gadget will be like my breadcrumb home, without having to stop and ask for directions.
- I was thinking not of posting this but I actually would like a new iPhone 3GS, Thats right I don't have one and I wasn't going to jump on the band wagon, but hell the pressure of being the only one without one is killing me!
- I'm not much into all-in-on anything (with the exception of a remote control, but the PIXMA MX7600 all-in-one printer from Cannon is not just something that would be nice to have it's also almost needed for my wife's printer-less home office.
- Oh and last but not least I don't have enough USB ports on my Mac Book Pro and this little USB Hub would sure come in handy!
I guess you can't really call all of the things in my list gadgets if you go by the wikipedia definition. But they do all fit in the tech hardware category, and they are all gadgets in my mind.
So what is on your Top 10 List?

The PS3 uses bluetooth for it's controller. This means traditional IR remotes won't work. However, I have a Logitech Harmony universal remote and they sell a receiver (which is like $60--which I think is too pricey) that will it's IR signal into bluetooth for the PS3. It works pretty well and has allowed me to use my universal remote to control all my devices.
There are some other companies that sell IR to bluetooth devices, but this was the cheapest solution I found and was designed specifically for my setup--so it worked out for me.
